Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti celebrations commenced on Saturday, March 24th at Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Secaucus, New Jersey. This year, disciples participated in a twenty-four dhoon beginning Saturday afternoon. Disciples sang a variety of hymns accompanied by musical instruments throughout the dhoon to celebrate Lord Shree Swaminarayan's 237th manifestation day. As the dhoon continued into the night, disciples also participated in a volleyball tournament as teams rotated in and out of the dhoon. In its concluding hours, hundreds of disciples filled the temple hall and sang along in unison. The day-long dhoon concluded after the divine idol of Lord Shree Swaminarayan was carried into the temple hall and rested in the hindolo. As part of the procession many food items were offered to the Lord. Disciples then performed pragatya aarti before listening to Acharya Swamishree's divine ashirwad.

Children made an extra effort to celebrate Lord Swaminarayan's manifestation day by putting on a costume show. Young disciples dressed up as figures from Lord Swaminarayan's childhood and stood before the congregation giving clues as to their identities. All in all it was a great success as young disciples demonstrated their knowledge and provide entertainment on a festive day. Disciples then performed a special utsav during which overzealous disciples danced and rejoiced. The program concluded with aarti and niyams after which disciples enjoyed dinner prasad.
