On Sunday, January 1st, 2017, disciples gathered at Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Secaucus, New Jersey, to celebrate the New Year 2017. Festivities started at noon with a Sadguru Din program featuring devotional music, meditation, and the divine blessings of Gurudev Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree. Disciples then performed utsav and aarti. Lunch maha-prasad was served afterwards.

This year, following the Sadguru Din program, the temple hosted a new year's carnival open to the local community. Visitors from all across Hudson County came out to take part in the activities. With the theme of unity in mind, disciples of all ages participated in the carnival games. Disciples and guests played on one of seven teams, each representative of the spiritual heirs of the Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan lineage. Participation and game win figures were tallied to determine the winning team. Regardless of the standings, disciples enjoyed each other's company and played together in the home of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa as His beloved children.

Following the carnival games, disciples came back together to perform sandhya aarti and niyams before enjoying dinner. Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Secaucus, New Jersey would like to thank everyone who came out to the carnival, and we hope you had a great time. We wish you a happy year ahead!
