The humble disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey held this year’s annual New Year Shibir from Saturday, December 30th to Sunday, December 31st.

The fun and games commenced on the beautiful December afternoon of the 30th with football games at the local Laurel Hill Park. Later in the afternoon, a badminton tournament was held at Swamibapa Hall. The top two teams advanced to the final match which was held on the 31st.

Before the second half of the shibir on Sunday, many disciples took the Sanskar Dipika examinations in English for Part 4 and in Gujarati for Part 5. After completing the exams, disciples resumed the shibir and played games such as kabadi, dodge ball, bleep test, and kho among several others. The final badminton match also took place. Prasad was served to all at the end of the shibir.
