On Friday, July 31, 2015, Shree Swaminarayan Temple - Secaucus, NJ celebrated the auspicious Gurupoornima, an annual festival held to honor and express reverence towards our Guru. This year, the auspicious occasion was held in the presence of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriaydasji Maharaj, eminent sants, and hundreds of disciples. Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, Shree Harikrushna Maharaj, and Acharya Swamishree were adorned with chandan (sandlewood paste) vagha. Disciples prepared numerous chhabs, filled with exotic fruits, nuts, and sweets, to offer to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.
Jeevanpran Shree Muktjaeevan Swamibapa was seated on a decorated palanquin carried by Acharya Swamishree and eminent sants; they were escorted by disciples singing and dancing with utsav. Acharya Swamishree delivered His ashirwad (divine blessings) in Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Community Hall to hundreds of disciples. The celebration was concluded with disciples having the opportunity for personal darshan with their Gurus, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree.
