The city of Secaucus, home to Shree Swaminarayan Gadi’s headquarters temple in the United States, Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey, held its annual Memorial Day Parade on Saturday, May 16th, 2015. Memorial Day is a federal American holiday. It is observed on the last Monday of May each year to recognize those who lost their lives serving in the United States Armed Forces throughout the country’s history.

Swamibapa Pipe Band had the honor of playing throughout this year’s Memorial Day Parade in Secaucus. Band members marched the two-mile parade, playing patriotic tunes such as “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful.” Onlookers sang the lyrics to the tune of the pipes and rhythm of the drums while waving their flags and cheering. At the conclusion, Swamibapa Pipe Band issued a salute to all the fallen heroes at a grandstand with a rendition of “Amazing Grace.” Many temple disciples had joined the parade to support the band and pay tribute to the fallen heroes as well.
