Ten years have passed since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 struck the United States. The effects from that unfortunate day have echoed throughout the entire world, stressing a need for world peace. Thousands were victims of the attacks, and hundreds of courageous heroes died risking their lives on that day.

Due to Secaucus’ close proximity to New York City, many community members work there, and members of the local police and fire departments were called upon for urgent help that day. Sadly, many of them lost their lives on September 11th, 2011. To honor their lives and all the lives that were lost that day, to show support for those victims’ loved ones, and to honor the heroes, a memorial service was held in front of the Secaucus Public Library and the Business Resource Center on Paterson Plank Road. A new memorial was erected in remembrance of the thousands of lives that were lost. Along with local police officers, firefighters, and politicians, the youth of Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey were asked to present flowers and bouquets in honor of one of the community members who had lost his life on September 11th, 2011. Many community members and friends and families who had lost loved ones had gathered for the services.
