When Gurudev Jeevanpran Swamibapa returned to Maninagardham after the Mokshdayi Yatra in 1973, the Sants and disciples took the opportunity of ceremonially bathing Him with sacred water from the River Ganges.
During the pilgrimage led by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, held from 4 April to 16 April 2015, the Sants and disciples travelled through many sites of pilgrimage in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and travelled approximately 3800 kilometres. The large convoy of 32 vehicles, comprised of 11 coaches, 13 minibuses, and 8 cars. And by the divine grace and mercy of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Vedratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Yatra, safely returned to the ultimate site of pilgrimage – Maninagardham, the eternal home of supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
In the same manner, when all the Sants and disciples of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Yatra, a total of 550 individuals, had safely returned to Maninagardham on Thursday 16 April 2015, the ceremonial bathing of the holy Paduka of Lord Shree Swaminarayan was performed. During this ceremony, Vedratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj bathed the holy Paduka with water from the River Ganges, River Jamuna, River Saraswati, and the River Saryu. To mark the conclusion of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smruti Yatra, all the Sants who had remained in Maninagardham and leading disciples offered a large garland of fresh flowers to Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.
