Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa established Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Delhi in 1978. Exactly 33 years later, the Patotsav ceremony of Lord Shree Swaminarayan – Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree and Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa who magnificently presides in the Mandir was performed by Acharya Swamishree.
Jeevanpran Swamibapa chose the day of Vijya-dashmi, also known as Dashera to install the divine Murtis of the supreme Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa in Delhi Mandir. Traditionally, Dashera is considered to be a day to acknowledge the victory of Shree Ram over Ravan, and therefore is a symbol of the victory of good over evil. The harvest season also begins traditionally on this day in India.
The Patotsav ceremony took place on Thursday 6th October 2011, in the presence of sants and the disciples of Delhi.
