Chaturmas Discourses Held in Maninagar

The Shravan month falls within the auspicious Chaturmas. The 4 month period between Ashad sud ekadashi (usually falls around July) and Kartik sud ekadashi (October / November) is referred to as the Chaturmas, literally, 4 months.

During this time, all disciples will take extra vows such as fasting, scripture recitals, meditation and other religious observances as described by Lord Swaminarayan in the Shikshapatri, sloks 76-78.

One of the major vows taken is to attend religious discourses. To facilitate this important observance, special Chaturmas discourses are held in all the major Temples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan.

In Maninagar, the Chaturmas Discourses commenced on 4 September 2007, in the divine presence of Acharya Swamishree and will last until the day of Amas, on 11 September 2007.

For the duration of these discourses, Sant Shiromani Shree Vignanprakashdasji Swami will narrate magnificent Sanskrit scripture, Shree Swaminarayanbapa Charitramrut Sagar.
