The remarkably talented sants and disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan have performed many drama productions in order to lucidly explain some of the fundamental theology of our religion.

On Sunday 21 January 2007, a drama production was performed in the vast activity hall of the magnificent Swamibapa Complex in Nairobi. This included a series of short sketches that described the power and benefits of good, moral conduct (sadaachaar) and the power of associating with the Lord’s great sants. The program was named ‘Sant to chalata bhala’ (Sants are the epitome of walking mercy).

The first story depicted a thief who used to commit sins and then thank various deities for ensuring that he was not captured. He believed that praying to these deities would wash away his sins. He believed that the Lord washes away one’s sins, just like one washes clothes. He also believed that it was his duty to sin because otherwise the Lord would not have anything to do. He thought that God’s only role was to wash away the sins of dacoits such as himself. On one occasion, the thief encountered the sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. From their guidance, the thief realised the error of his ways. Lord Swaminarayan, our Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and our beloved Acharya Swamishree have instructed us to have pativrata bhakti – chaste devotion likened to the devotion and commitment that a wife has for her one and only husband. By praying to many deities like the thief used to, he was not chaste in his devotion and could never attain the favour of the Lord. In the same manner, we must remain faithful and loyal to our supreme Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree. This understanding can only be attained at Shree Swaminarayan Gadi through the association of such great sants.

Another story was based on the manner in which Lord Swaminarayan’s Sants teach good conduct by using themselves as examples of moral behaviour. One such sant was Mahant Swami, who through his tolerance of abuse by non-believers served as an example of Lord Swaminarayan’s love and compassion for all living beings. As he and his group of sants travelled through various regions, they encountered abuse, violence and tyranny. However, through their infinite love, compassion and tolerance, the sants inspired the people to change their ways and take up a life of devotion to the Supreme Lord Swaminarayan.

Earlier that day, Acharya Swamishree opened a new office complex, named Purushottam Place.

Scripture recitals were also held at the complex by Acharya Swamishree and sants.
