The Platinum Tula
In the late afternoon, on Saturday, August 4th, 2012, sants and hundreds of disciples gathered by the gardens at the intersection of Raydol Avenue and Humboldt Street in downtown Secaucus for the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Platinum Tula Mahotsav nagaryatra. The divine murtis of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree, and Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa were seated upon a beautiful grand chariot. Shortly, Acharya Swamishree arrived with a full police escort from Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey. He was seated upon the chariot and greeted with garlands by disciples as well as Mayor of Secaucus, Michael Gonnelli. Disciples then performed aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree seated upon the chariot. Many sants were seated on the chariot afterwards as well.
The procession then commenced. Swamibapa Pipe Band led the nagaryatra, young disciples performed devotional dances to joyous kirtans behind the chariots, and hundreds of disciples from all over the world walked in the procession singing praises of the Lord. Hundreds of local residents and workers came out from their homes, offices, and stores to gaze at the procession, the divine murtis of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, and Acharya Swamishree. They snapped photos on their cameras and phones and recorded videos with their camcorders. Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree bestowed their divine darshan upon them all throughout the entire nagaryatra. The procession went all the way down Humboldt Street and then crossed Centre Avenue, Patterson Plant Road, and Front Street, the main roads in downtown Secaucus. It then went down Plaza Center and ended at the entrance of Secaucus’ Buchmuller Park.
Disciples then escorted Acharya Swamishree down a red carpet into Buchmuller Park, and Swamibapa Pipe Band formed a guard of honor for Him. Acharya Swamishree was seated upon a grand throne on stage. Hundreds of disciples and members from the local community had gathered at Buchmuller Park for Acharya Swamishree’s divine darshan and the Swamibapa Community Festival.
Sadguru Shashtri Shree Bhagwatpriyadasji Swami then gave a speech about the great achievements of Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree and also about the supremacy of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, and Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. He also described how the glory of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan has spread all over the world and how there are talented, loving disciples all across the globe. Sant Shiromani Shree Aksharatitdasji Swami also gave a delightful speech in English about the significance of a guru and the importance of having a guru in one’s life. He described how we are the most fortunate people in the world to have found gurus such as Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, and now, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree. They have opened all the gates to ultimate salvation (aatyantik moksh) to us.
Following the sants’ phenomenal speeches, the first-place winners from the male bhakti soor, musical instrument, and bhakti nrutya SGS Talent 2012 competitions showcased their talents to Acharya Swamishree, sants, disciples, and all the attendees at the Swamibapa Community Festival. Disciples, young and old, sang kirtans about the Lord’s glory, performed excellent devotional dances, and played a variety of musical instruments such as the bagpipes, marching toms, tabla, keyboard, and saxophone to please the Lord. The entire audience loved their performances, and the evening was every enjoyable.
After all the performances concluded, Acharya Swamishree was escorted out of the park and back to Shree Swaminarayan Temple New Jersey, where He performed sandhya aarti and niyams. Everyone was served delicious snacks and prasad at the park. This concluded the Swamibapa Community Festival and the third day of the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Platinum Tula Mahotsav.
