Sharadpoonam - Africa

Sharad Purnima or Sharad Poonam is the last ‘’Full Moon” before the end of the Hindu calendar. It is also believed that on this day, as the moon and the earth are very close to each other, the moon rays have certain healing properties of nourishing the body and the soul.

Hence, to receive more of the healing properties from the moon rays, bowls, spoons, plates and glasses made out of stainless steel were assembled in a beautiful exhibit around Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevan Shree Abji Bapashree & Muktajeevan Swamibapa at Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan – Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajivan Mandal – Nairobi.

The event commenced with the divine discourses of Vedratna Acharya Swamishree Maharaj followed by  Sandhya Aarti Niyams and Kirtan Bhakti. Thereafter, samuh raas was played where everyone was engrossed with devotion to the kirtans.

Before the congregation dispersed, Mahaprasad was served to all.
