Kenya gained its independence on 12 th December 1963. This day is known as Jamhuri day; Jamhuri - meaning “republic” in the national language, Kiswahili. This year Devotees gathered at Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajivan Mandal – Nairobi, to observe Kenya’s 55th Independence.
The Observation kicked off with Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipeband Saluting to The Kenyan National Flag that was raised by HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj. Everyone stood attentively to pay respects to the National Anthem. Acharya Swamishree was later honored with a garland during His 30 th Vicharan in the country. Acharya Swamishree Maharaj later cut the cake and offered it to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.
In the evening, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj along with Sant Mandla and devotees departed for Uganda for a 7 day Vicharan.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
