Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajivan Mandal – Nairobi, celebrated the first Sadguru Din of the Hindu New year on the 26th of November 2019. Sadguru Din celebrations commenced with Sandhya Aarti niyams at 5.30pm, followed by Kirtan bhakti and a 30 minute meditation.
Divine discourses of HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj followed right after, where He explained that;
Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa on explaining the importance of Shree Sadgurudin says that Lord Shree Swaminarayan is pleased upon anyone who celebrates this day each month. He further goes on to explain that it is a day to identify and realize how close to the Lord and how affectionate to the Lord one has become whilst performing deeds to please Him. The Lord is pleased even when a disciple thinks of ways to please Him. Despite the situation during those times, disciples used to come walking to where Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa has organized celebration of Shree Sadgurudin.
One cannot contemplate on the Lord’s Murti without knowledge and intellect; and without contemplating on His Murti, one cannot have true affection and love for Him. Likewise, it is through contemplating on His Murti that one can realize how distant or close to the Lord he’s become; how much continuous remembrance of the Lord he has; how many devotional thoughts and how many
worldly thoughts he has; and whether or not he understands the Lord as omniscient.
Indolence during (Dhyaan) contemplating on the Lord’s Murti is a sign of growing distant from the Lord. Performing Dhyaan should be a necessity in one’s life. Jeevanpran Shree Abjibapa says that, one should not stop contemplating on the Murti due to any fear, instead should always have faith and keep praying to the Lord to prevent any ill thoughts. The Bliss of Contemplation is unique and
out of this world.
There are many obstacles when it comes to walking on the spiritual path, it is difficult and the greatest enemy/obstacle is indolence. Therefore with continuous exercise, praying and having faith in the Lord one can overcome all these obstacles.
The Lord explain in the Shikshapatri that His disciples should offer a tenth of their income to Him and if they are poor then they may donate a twentieth of their earnings. The lord will gift His true disciples His Divine Murti.
Devotees swayed graciously while playing Samuh raas to please Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. Prasad was distributed to all.
