Such a disciple can withstand the Lord’s words of wisdom and is able to devote himself truly to Him. To be able to achieve these, one has to attain a state of peace. Without peace one’s life unknowingly becomes full of jealousy, enmity, emotional agitation. Therefore, to attain peace, one has to reminisce, recite and read the scriptures of the leela charitra (creative activity and conduct of the Lord).
Any fortunate deed is initiated with a recital for peace because nothing in life is achieved without peace, and without any achievement one can never progress in life. One must have complete faith in the Lord whilst trying to progress both financially and religiously/spiritually.
One cannot attain peace until he connects the consciousness with the Lord. To achieve this connection, one has to contemplate the Murti of the Lord at all times and if one gets distracted by thoughts during this, he should start chanting the chants of ‘Swaminarayan’ loudly, and by doing this, one is able to achieve peace in the religion.
The intellect of person who has no interest in the religious stories (katha) of the Lord becomes impeded, and starts having an unsteady mind with irrelevant thoughts, and therefore cannot make any progress in life. One requires contentedness and devotion towards the Lord in order for development and progress in life. With such remembrance of the Lord, one can spur good culture in himself. If we perform such remembrance-based devotion, there will be growth in wealth, erudition and skills. Service to the Lord can be done with erudition, skills and wealth. One should create a strong bond with the Lord. If one believes the Lord’s conduct to be divine, it is said to have true love towards Him. At our Swaminarayan Gadi we celebrate events, which are virtuous. Virtuous (Saatvik) yagnas lead the souls to eternal salvation. Any tasks given to us by the Lord should be done perfectly without any pride.
The Lord accepts our service if we avoid any arrogance and perform the tasks politely.
If one listens and acts upon the Lord’s wishes without arrogance is a very successful disciple.
