East Africa Hindola Darshan

Every year during hindola, devotees at Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajivan Mandal – Nairobi get together and brainstorm on the exclusive ideas of Hindolas to compose. Hindola means decorating swings with anything and everything that exists in the world of Art, Craft and creativity.

This year, a total of 6 hindolas were assembled in Nairobi. Lord Shree Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree, Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa & HariKrushna Maharaj gave divine darshan on artificial flower arch, a wonderful beach theme contrived using forks and spoons, miniatures of Nairobi’s iconic buildings; The KICC (Kenya International Conference Centre) and The Clock Tower of Parliament, a Rajasthani themed hindola with copper traditional vessels, the Lord's colorful Wagha (garments) and a beautiful Peacock themed hindola decorated with statice flowers, Rakhis and Peacoxk feathers.

Likewise, devotees residing in Mombasa, Tanzania and Uganda too assembled various Hindolas.

Hindolas in Mombasa consisted of; various incense sticks, paper quilling, dry fruits such as - cashew nuts, almonds, raisins etc., Indian sweet delicacy called penda, flower & Rakhri and fruits & vegetables.

Hindolas in Tanzania consisted of; Sweets & Chocolates, Divine Murtis of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, inflated balloons, artificial flower garlands, match sticks, fruits & Vegetables and Badges.

Hindolas in Uganda consisted of; a display of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan temples around the world, intricate designs made with henna paste (mehndi), stationery and Rakhri.

This year the Hindola Utsav commenced on 11th July and ended on 9th August.
