Jamhuri Day Celebrations
Kenya celebrates Jamhuri Day on 12th December every year. On 12th December 2016, it celebrated its 53rd Independence Day.
HDH Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj celebrated this day at Swamibapa Temple with great pomp. Young and old all came in large numbers to celebrate this Kenyan national day. Most of them painted the Kenyan National flag on their faces, others wore attires resembling to the colours of the national flag to show love towards their country Kenya.
HDH Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj raised the Kenyan National flag as Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band – Nairobi played the Kenyan National Anthem. He cut a cake and offered to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. Young devotees fluttered Kenyan flags and danced happily to celebrate this day.
Soon after the celebrations, HDH Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj left Swamibapa Temple and departed for Mombasa. Devotees of Mombasa held similar celebrations upon HDH Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj’s arrival in Mombasa.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
