Mombasa Vicharan

One of the towns HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj visits yearly during his East Africa Vicharan is Mombasa (Kenya), to bless the Swaminarayan Gadi disciples residing there.

Acharya Swamishree travelled to Mombasa from Nairobi for a period of 7 days, from the 30th of November to the 7th of December. There he accepted the prayers of the devotees and blessed them by dining at their homes and consecrating their homes with peace.

A donation in the presence of HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, was made to the Mombasa Secondary School, which is a school for the physically handicapped.

SOS - Social Society International, Mombasa, was founded in 1980. The SOS take in children that have been abandoned by their parents from the newly born up to children who are 10 years of age. This village comprises of 16 houses with 16 mothers who take care of 10 children. This society received a donation in the presence of HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

As the sun set on the 3rd, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, sants and devotees gathered around the divine murti of Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swami to mark His 208th Diksha Jayanti. A maha aarti was performed with the use of a sugarcane. Sants and young disciples pleased Acharya Swamishree by reciting episodes of Yogivarya Gopalbapa.

On the 5th of December, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj inaugurated "Swamibapa Prarthana Hall" for the devotees residing in Mombasa to perform Bhakti conveniently. The day commenced by a salutation from Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band – Nairobi to HDH Acharya Swamishree upon His arrival at the venue. Distinguished guests were invited to witness this occasion. In His Divine blessings, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj stated that, "Whether a farmer or doctor, fisherman or tailor, Brahim or a Shudra, black or white; every caste, every being is equal in the eyes of The Supreme Lord Swaminarayan." To celebrate the inauguration of "Swamibapa Prarthana Hall," a small procession was held in the town of Mombasa where Acharya Swamishree Maharaj was seated upon a grand chariot led by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band - Nairobi. The devotees sang and danced while others carryied traditional urns. Anyone who witnessed this procession received immense blessings from HDH Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

The following day "Rangostav" was held on the beach where Shree Harikrishna Maharaj and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj were adorned with "Panchamrut". The Panch amrut consists of Saffron, Sugar, Milk, Honey and Curd. The Indian Ocean was blessed by Acharya Swamishree taking a swim in the ocean and blessing devotees.
