In Kenya, Jamhuri Day is celebrated on 12th December every year. This is the day when Kenya became independent in 1963.

H H Swamibapa Pipe Band got a special invitation from The Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture & Social Services to entertain invited guests at the State House Garden Party hosted by His Excellency the President, Hon. Mwai Kibaki, and Her Excellency the First Lady, Mrs. Lucy Kibaki, during Jamhuri Day Celebrations on 12th December 2007 at State House Nairobi.

During this special occasion, Officers from the Permanent Presidential Music Commission had requested The Band to prepare an entertaining performance for the ambassadors, ministers and other dignitary guests.

Annually, the entertainers during such a party include traditional dancers and choirs, but today the audience witnessed something different. This was the first time in the Kenyan History that members from Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan were invited to perform at such a prominent occasion. No other Hindu Sect has ever been invited to perform during such occasion.

With the Divine blessings of Acharya Swamishree, H H Swamibapa Pipe Band, accompanied by procession girls dancing with ribbons gave a spectacular performance amidst loud cheers and applause from all the audience. The audience was amazed at the way the girls performed the ribbon dance. Due to a tight schedule and a number of groups who were to perform, we were allocated only 4 minutes for performance, but once our performance started, the audience cheered us on and the performance lasted for almost 15 minutes.

His Excellency the President and Her Excellency the First Lady went round meeting the guests and viewing the teams of choirs and dancers. When they came to our group, they were ecstatic after seeing our wonderful performance. They greeted all our committee members who gave them a brief introduction of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan.
