Gurupoonam Celebrations in Nairobi - 2013
On July 22nd2013, Ashad Sud Poonam, devotees gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima. On this day devotees adorn The Lord with their love and affection. They show their gratitude towards their “Guru” for the religious teachings and spiritual knowledge that they receive from him.
Devotees performed poojan to Gururaj Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa and then offered aarti to Lord Swaminarayan, Shree Abji Bapashree and Muktajeevan Swamibapa. The ‘Ashirwad Patra’ sent by HDH Acharya Swamishree was then read to the vast number of devotees who had gathered for the celebrations.
Everyone dispersed with sweet memories and delicious prasad of ‘aradia’ and ‘sevmamra’.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
