Donation to the Blind and Deaf Society
Swamibapa Temple - Nairobi, under the umbrella of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan Maninagar - India, presented a handsome amount of cash donation to each of the two societies who support the under privileged children, the deaf and the blind, in Kenya.
The event took place at Swamibapa Temple in Parklands. Representatives from Kenya Institute For The Blind and Kenya society for Deaf Children were invited to the temple to receive the donations from the spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, HDH Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj. In His divine speech, the spiritual leader emphasized the importance of leading a humanely life and serving the needy and underprivileged members of the society. Lord Swaminarayan has emphasized the same in verse 139 of the holy scripture-The Shikshapatri. The members of the society were extremely delighted to receive such support from Swamibapa Temple and promised to utilize the funds to the benefit of the physically challenged members of the society. The funds will be used to put up a unique cyber café for the blind and purchase hearing kits for the deaf.
A young physically challenged child recited a poem who received a standing ovation from the congregation. The children also entertained the congregation with a typical traditional African dance.
The invited guests and the underprivileged children (blind and deaf) were presented with flower garlands, bouquets and a packet of consecrated food (Prasad).
