600 TREES FOR KARURA FOREST

As its “Social Responsibilty”, Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan initiates various activities all around the globe – Africa, Europe, America and Asia. It takes great pride in conserving the natural resources and its sustainable usage. It has taken Global Warming very seriously and is making tireless efforts to mitigate its effect all round the world for the current and future generations.

With the ongoing celebration of the 60th anniversary of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj Shashtipurti Mahotsav, Acharya Swamishree together with SSSS Mandal Nairobi initiated a tree planting ceremony at the Karura Forest Reserve. A total of 600 seedlings were planted in the Karura Forest Reserve. Hundreds of devotees gathered in the forest for tree planting. During the tree planting ceremony, Shree Swaminarayan Sidhant Sajivan Mandal Nairobi presented Friends of Karura Forest with a cheque of Ksh160,000.00 in recognition of their excellent work for putting a lot of effort to conserve the flora and fauna of Karura Forest.

The Karura Forest Reserve is one of the largest gazetted forests in the world fully within a city limits. It offers eco-friendly opportunities for Kenyans and visitors from abroad to enjoy a leafy green respite from the bustle of the city, to walk, jog or just sit quietly and enjoy nature in all its diversity.

Present at the function were dignitaries who dedicate a lot of their valuable time in conservation of Karura Forest Reserve.
