61st Patotsav - Nairobi Temple

To celebrate the 61st Patotsav of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj, a four day event was held in Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Temple, Nairobi. Hundreds of devotees from Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Arusha, Uganda, India, USA and UK took part in the celebrations. Devotees took the opportunity to sponsor the entire event. A musical night on 23rd December 2013 commenced the celebrations. Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Granth parayan was recited on 24th and 25th December 2013 and the patotsav ceremony on 26th December 2013.

On the 24th of December 1998, Param Pujya Acharya Swamishree showed us his miraculous deeds by succumbing a heart attack. He underwent a bypass surgery. Sants and devotees all around the world were praying to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa for the good health of our beloved Acharya Swamishree. Prayers were conducted daily by all individuals then and now.

Exactly 15 years later, on the 24th of December 2013, sants performed poojan to Acharya Swamishree. Everyone took the opportunity to perform aarti to celebrate the 15 years of Acharya Swamishrees’ good health and Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa grants us with more of such blessed years.

We’re sincerely grateful for what Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa has gifted us with; our beloved Acharya Swamishree; for spreading the awareness of the greatness of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. We Love You Bapa!

The sponsors of the event offered gifts and performed poojan and aarti to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.

On the final day, Acharya Swamishree performing Mangla Aarti at 6.00am. At 7.30am, HDH Acharya Swamishree commenced the patotsav ceremony by performing the auspicious ‘shodshopchaar’ poojanto Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.

The Lord was then offered an array of lavish food items in the form of an annkut. HDH Acharya Swamishree was seated on a Gadi amid the annkut display- a rare darshan witnessed for the first time.
Acharya Swamishree, sants and devotees then performed aarti to the divine murti of Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.

On this auspicious occasion, HDH Acharya Swamishree showered His divine blessings upon the congregation.

The celebrations concluded with a lavish luncheon prasad.
