Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj Shashtipurti Mahotsav
In June 1952, by the divine grace and inspiration of Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, a charitable trust was registered in the name of Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajivan Mandal - Nairobi. Shortly thereafter, a plot of land for erecting a new temple was purchased for a value of Ksh.65,000.00 in the prestigious Grogan Road (now re-named Kirinyaga Road).
The foundation stone was laid in 1952, and the devotees worked hard to erect a new temple on the site. Within a short period of 6 months, a new temple building was erected.
A magnificent three day festival, from Wednesday 24 December 1952 to Friday 26 December 1952 was held in celebration of the installation of the divine Murtis of Shree Ghanshyam Maharaj and Jeevanpran Abji Bapsashree.
Exactly 60 years have passed since the installation of the divine murtis in Nairobi Temple on Kirinyaga Road. To observe the 60th year of this auspicious day, the inspirator, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj together with the sants and devotees of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan have organized a grand Shashtipurti Mahotsav from 22nd December to 26th December 2012.
