Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury has a proud history of supporting a range of local, national and international charitable and community activities. These endeavours stem from the time of Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself, and today, are inspired by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj – who encourages His disciples around the world to continuously put “Society before self”.
At Kingsbury, we have a number of enduring charity partners with whom we have worked for many years. These include NHSBT - we have held numerous blood and organ donation sessions and campaigns. We also instigate targeted charitable campaigns around major festivals and celebrations, under the inspiration of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj's philosophy that “Dedicating one's life to the service of others is the truest celebration of a festival”
During our Grand Opening festival in 2014 we raised over £30,000 for the local St Luke’s Hospice through a range of fundraising activities. In celebration of Sadbhav Amrut Parva, we partnering with Save the Children to raise significant funds for this wonderful charity and increase awareness of their amazing work in saving children's lives. This is all being done under. All funds raised really will help save children's lives, meaning Save the Children can ensure every last child gets to learn, play and grow up healthy and happy. Sponsored events will see participants of all ages from the Mandir and local community raising important funds for Save the Children.

1st October is Sewa Day – an international day of action. On Sewa Day, thousands of good-hearted people across the world come together to perform Sewa (literally translated as performing an act of kindness without expectation of reward) and experience the joy of giving in its truest sense. By participating in this collective endeavour, we hope that the seeds of Sewa are watered so that acts of kindness and public service are performed more often. Sewa Day is a catalyst in making this happen. You can find out more about this initiative at http://www.sewaday.org/about-sewa-day/
