In the lead up to Shree Swaminarayan Jayanti, the anniversary of Lord Shree Swaminarayan’s manifestation, the boys and girls of Swamibapa Gujarati School put on a special assembly.

The outstanding performance featured dancing, singing, musical instruments and a drama performance titled, 'Baal Ghanshyam vs Ayodhya's Skilled Wrestlers'.

A group of boys and girls held a questions and answers session, discussing the divine childhood episodes of the Lord and key facts about His arrival onto this Earth.

The penultimate act to the assembly was a delightful drama performance depicting one of Baal Ghanshyam's childhood narratives in which the ego of the arrogant wrestlers is deflated. Jeevanpran Swamibapa has versed "the Lord does not like arrogance, he does not like conceitedness. Anyone who has become arrogant has faced ultimate defeat because the Lord detests any manner of arrogance".

The finale featured an energetic rendition of the kirtan, “Garva Nathi Gamto Prabhuji ne". The whole congregation joined in; clapping, signing and celebrating the outstanding performance.

These assemblies not only educate the youngest in our community – as well as the wider congregation – about the glory of the Lord and our Sanstha, but they help the participants to grow in confidence and develop their public speaking, research and teamwork skills; all things that will stand them in good stead as they mature.
