Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band were amongst the leading performers at the Carnival of Nice, which took place in mid February. This international event is one of the world's major carnival events.
Twenty-six members of the Pipe Band, including 10 of their newest recruits, had the opportunity to perform in the Carnival Parade of Lights and Flower Parade.
The Band performed alongside over 60 other groups from Europe, North and South America, and Asia - making thier mark in this truly international extravaganza.
Vasant Savani, piper, 17, said “Whilst being involved in the Carnival Parade of Lights, we had the privilege of seeing extravagant floats. The atmosphere was uplifting, which made us feel all the more privileged to be able to give the crowd a good show and represent Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and the community at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury.”
Almost 200,000 spectators attend the carnival every February to catch a glimpse of the extravagant floats, talented performers, and the display of unity by the French Riviera. A truly beautiful experience shared by many.
