Shyaam soondar sokh kaari re
(Sadguru Shree Muktanand Swami)
It is said that even God has an addiction. But His addiction is not like the evil addictions of humans. God is addicted to the love of His children. Indeed the first of the 6 principle purposes for the manifestation of the Supreme Lord Swaminarayan onto this earth was to fulfil the devotional wishes of His disciples. Lord Swaminarayan says that He has no want of riches, luxury, wealth or pleasure. All He wants is true devotion - true love. It is only this that pleases Him. He is addicted to this love.
His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree has shown that He too is addicted to the devotion of the disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. Less than 6 months ago, He underwent quadruple coronary by-pass surgery at Mumbai's Leelavati Hospital. His Holiness Acharya Swamishree's recovery has been truly remarkable. All the sants and devotees of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi have constantly prayed for Acharya Swamishree to relinquish this praakrut charitra. But until they all had the darshan of His Holiness Acharya Swamishree in person, they would not be at ease. Acharya Swamishree said, "Merely hearing of my recovery, seeing photographs or watching videos of Me will not be enough for my satsangis. They will still worry. They will not be at ease until they have my darshan in person. And, rather than them all coming to India, I Myself will go and show them that their prayers have been answered. The value of prayer is infinite. I will go to my satsangees to show them the power of prayer with true devotion." Thus totally disregarding His own health status, His Holiness Acharya Swamishree and a group of His sants and satsangees arrived in London on the morning of 6th June 1999. He will remain in the UK until the 2nd of July 1999 and then travel to Kenya.
Bolton & Lake Windermere
His Holiness Jeevanpran Swamibapa ceased giving darshan in His human form on the evening of the 30th August 1979. During this entire day, Jeevanpran Swamibapa toured around the Lake District. In particular, a special sabha in commemoration of the forthcoming Bicentenary Celebrations of Lord Swaminarayan was held on a hilltop, on the banks of Lake Winderemere. This spot has become a site of great significance for the devotees of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. Each year, on this anniversary, the UK devotees gather at this site and conduct a sabha to honour our Jeevanpran. This site has become a great site of pilgrimage. His Holiness Acharya Swamishree visited Lake Winderemere on Saturday the 19th June.
