Sunday 26th July saw Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury’s 31st blood donation session. With the 95 units collected, it brought the grand total of units collected by sessions held at the Mandir to an amazing 3036.

It was wonderfully befitting that this session took place on the eleventh and final day of remembrance and honouring of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, who withdrew His human darshan from this world on 16th July. He advocated a philosophy of selfless giving and instigated charitable campaigns around the world – often leading by example. This is exactly why centres of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan around the world hold regular blood donations session – inspired by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s teachings; and one of His many legacies will be that these sessions will continue long into the future.

During His 31 visits to the UK, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj inspired His followers to put ‘society before self', and so Kingsbury Mandir’s 31st blood donation taking place at the end of this auspicious period of remembrance was an apt tribute to our infinitely selfless Bapa.

The next session at the Mandir takes place on 22nd November – visit www.blood.co.uk to book your appointment.
