On Tuesday 9th September 2018, celebrations for Swamibapa Jayanti were held at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury. Today marked the 111th year since Gurudev Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Jayanti manifested on Earth.
Celebrations began at 6:30pm, as Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band led a procession from the forecourt of the Complex into the Mandir. Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa's Murti was held aloft in a beautiful palaquin by disciples, and a trail of young boys and girls carrying gifts followed behind.
As the Swagat Yatra entered the Mandir, the Band formed a guard of honour that Swamibapa was lead through towards the Sinhasan. The youngsters presented gifts to Gurudev Swamibapa, who was giving His darshan to everyone adorned with garments made entirely out of fresh flowers.
All the gathered disciples had the opportunity to perform poojan and aarti to Jeevanpran Swamibapa, after which an ashirwad letter from Acharya Swamishree Maharaj was read out. A special video presentation depicting Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s earlier years was enjoyed by all.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
