Swamibapa Volleyball Club held a 15 hour marathon to raise funds for Save the Children as part of the Mandir’s wider campaign in celebration of the Sadbhav Amrut Parva. This is one of two such events organised by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Academy of Sport – the first being a cricket marathon that took place earlier in the month.

A total of around 80 participants of all ages took part, and helped to push the Mandir’s total for STC past the £40,000 mark. Clubs from around the local area and as from as far as Cardiff came to take part in the tournament. With Swamibapa Volleyball Club being one of the newest Club within the wider Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Academy of Sport, it is testament to its members that they attracted such strong support and were able to organise such well-attended event.

Acharya Swamishree Maharaj has said “Dedicating one's life to the service of others is the truest celebration of a festival”, and inspired by this philosophy, over 250 members of the Mandir community - some as young as five years old - have taken part in fundraising events throughout the year, culminating in these Sports Marathons (Cricket and Volleyball).
