On Monday 6 March, the community at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury celebrated the Spring festival of Fuldolotsav with a mass devotional dance.
Fuldolotsav (or Pushpadolotsav – festival of flowers) takes place the day after Holi. All over India, the days are celebrated by spraying coloured water and powdered paint over one another - representative of the beautiful spring flowers blossoming at this time of year.
While many myths form the foundations of the festival, for disciples of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, this festival is all about defeating the internal enemies that would otherwise detract them from their devotion to the Lord.
Fuldolotsav 2017 was another opportunity for the community to celebrate the year-long Sadbhav Amrut Parva
