His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Maharaj presided over the Janmashtami celebrations at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Kingsbury on Thursday 25th August.

Janmashtami is significant in the Swaminarayan Faith as it marks the manifestation day of Sadguru Shree Ramamand Swami – the Lord’s own Guru. Today is particularly important to the disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi as marks 96 years since Jeevanpran Abji Bapashree established the Satsang Mahasabha by to protect the Faith and its assets.

Those attending had the privilege of listening to Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s Ashirwad before being able to offer poojan to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa while he swayed gently on a golden swing at the hands of our beloved Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

Following the poojan ceremony, young students of Shree Muktajeevan Academy of Performing Arts performed a devotional dance. Acharya Swamishree Maharaj then presided on an ornately decorated swing, sants gently swayed Him, while the entire sabha was delighted to witness this divine darshan.

Hundreds of visitors streamed through the Mandir doors throughout the day as the Mandir remained open all day for those wishing for the Lord’s darshan on this auspicious occasion.
