On the 7th of February 2016, the Conservative Mayoral Candidate, Zac Goldsmith visited Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury, the world’s first eco-temple. It comes in a long line of MP’s and Councillors who have visited the Mandir including Boris Johnson MP, the incumbent Mayor of London and Sadiq Khan who is Labour’s candidate for Mayor.

Mr Goldsmith said on his visit, “The reception today is one for a King. This is one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever been in -a palace of London”

“Between different communities is real harmony. The tensions that tear cities apart all over the world don’t exist here in London and that’s precious and that’s something that the Mayor of London must do everything he can to protect, preserve and encourage”

During the visit, Mr Goldsmith received greetings from many groups in the temple including Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band who have received international recognition. The MP for Richmond Park also heard of the many community events done by Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury including Blood donation, the Sports Relief Mile and the interfaith effort.
