The Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi was visiting the UK this week and Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band and Dhol Academy from London and Bolton were invited to perform at the welcoming event at Wembley Stadium on Friday 13th February. Furthermore, Shree Swaminarayan Mandirs in Kingsbury and Bolton were two of the official welcome partners for the event, and hundreds of disciples from our community attended the event.

Those who have seen the unique fusion of Scottish bagpipes and the thunderous Indian dhol drums are well aware of how impressive and rousing it is, but little did the 101 performers know that their act would be the highlight of the night, which was in fact a showcase of the very best British Indian artists. Their performance drew by far the largest cheers of the evening from the 60,000 plus crowd in the stadium, as well as surely from the estimated 1.2 billion global television audience. Social media was ablaze with praise of the Band’s performance, and the name of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa spread all over the globe in an instant.
