Sunday 10 December 2023 | Kartik Vad 12, Samvat 2080

Sun 10 Dec 2023

Sunday 3rd November saw Diwali and New Years celebrations take place for the first time at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury, as hundreds of disciples gathered to welcome in the year Samvat 2070.

Despite the smaller surroundings of Abji Bapashree House, which will be the temporary home of the divine Murtis of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa until Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury opens in August 2014, the Annakut was no less spectacular this year. Dozens of food items, reflecting cuisines from around the world, were tirelessly prepared by disciples and meticulously placed before the Lord in an intricate and beautiful display.

The day’s events including Sadguru Din comprising of dhyaan, dhoon, kathaa vaartaa and kirtan bhakti sessions. Sadguru Shree Ishwarcharandasji Swamibapa and Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree were particularly fond of these modes of worship and so it is these that are given a prominence on Sadguru Din, a special Ashirwad by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj for the occasion.
