Sunday 21 June 2015 was Father’s Day, and disciples at Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury took the opportunity to honour please our true father, Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.
The evening began when disciples led Acharya Swamishree Maharaj into Purushottam Mahal and onto the stage that was themed in tribute of our forefathers – the divine lineage of Gurus descending directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan, our Guru Parampara. Over the previous few days, each and every disciple, young and old, wrote a personal message to Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, and each message formed part of the stage decorations.
Acharya Swamishree Maharaj showered His divine blessings before younger disciples took the opportunity to please the Lord. Several youngsters spoke of their experiences of “fatherliness” with Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, which was followed by a tabla medley and kirtan bhakti from students of Shree Muktajeevan Arts and Culture Academy. The finale to the evening was kirtan bhakti performed by Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa’s beloved Santos. The evening concluded with everyone receiving Prasad.
His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj is the spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the current and fifth heir in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan. He is the incumbent Acharya of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi.
