The ladies of the female congregation of Kingsbury Mandir in London celebrated the New Year with devotional traditional dancing – samuh raas.
A form of worship, samuh raas is a traditional folk dance originating from Gujarat , India, where the devotees form a circle around Lord Swaminarayan. The event featured devotional music by live singers and dhol players. After a rousing and energetic raas, the female devotees performed aarti to the Lord.
This was the first time that the ladies’ raas event was held in Purushottam Mahal, providing much space and amenities. The congregation had much to be thankful for this new year – Bhagwan Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa has blessed us with such fantastic facilities and an amazing mandir.
