The London Borough of Barnet’s main police station in Colindale held an Open Day on Sunday 22 September 2013. Over 700 people from the Borough were given a behind the scenes glimpse of the station in Grahame Park Way. Exhibitions and demonstrations about the work of the police and crime prevention were given. A range of activities, including a helicopter fly-by and a demonstration on how police investigate the scene of a crime were held.
Start of the day’s events was a performance by Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band London. The band marched from the nearby Peel Centre to Colindale Station playing Scottish and Popular melodies on the bagpipes and drums. The performances delighted the crowds and was one of the highlights of the Open Day.
Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band has supported the Metropolitan Police on several of its events in the past years, and was delighted to help out in this community event again.
