The 69th birthday of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree was celebrated on Sunday 29th May 2011 with a magnificent kid’s fancy dress party. Hundreds of children and parents joined in for a fun packed day of bouncy castles, party games, party food and much more.

The grand party kicked off at 12.30pm and children came dressed as their favourite super heroes and characters. At any point in time you’d find yourself in the company of Batmen, Power Rangers, Peppa Pigs, Genies, Pirates, Minnie Mouse, Fairies and several Supermen.

The party began with kids of all ages whizzing down the enormous inflatable slide and scrambling through the giant obstacle course. Let there be no doubt – super heroes can fly!

Children lovingly created colourful handmade birthday cards for their beloved Acharya Swamishree with their own special birthday wishes prayers. These were presented to Lord Shree Swaminarayan and displayed in front of the Sinhasan.

And there’s no forgetting the popcorn machine and chocolate fountain, unsurprisingly these were quite popular with the children but the parents seemed to enjoy them rather too much too!

After 3 hours of bouncing inflatable fun and party games, the children loudly and joyfully sang happy birthday to Acharya Swamishree. Five beautifully decorated birthday cakes were cut before everyone sat down together for a fun party feast of pizza, strawberry trifle and ice-cream.

The perfect end to the party came with an interactive presentation with pictures and videos clips of the key events and achievements in Acharya Swamishree’s life. The children eagerly answered questions on how to keep Acharya Swamishree pleased with them, and learnt about the upcoming celebrations in 2012 with Acharya Swamishree’s 70th birthday, 50 years since the inauguration of Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Bhuj and the 50th anniversary since Jeevpran Swamibapa initiated Acharya Swamishree as a sant.
