On the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi – Thursday 7th August - Acharya Swamishree Maharaj presided over an assembly which concluded the Mantra Lekhan Yagna. Launched in August 2013 during final Patotsav celebrations at Golders Green, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj inspired disciples around the world to join the effort to repeatedly write the supreme mantra, Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, all in celebration of the lead up to the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Grand Opening Festival.
Back then, disciples made a collective pledge to write 10 million mantra. What seemed like a stretching target at the time was surpassed after only a few months and to date, a colossal 38 million mantra have been written. The count is still ongoing as our brothers and sisters worldwide continue to submit their totals, and the 40 million mark is sure to be surpassed.
During the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kingsbury Grand Opening Festival, the books of mantra will be placed in a pit beneath the chattri monument in the courtyard at Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Complex.
Acharya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj is the current spiritual leader of Maninagar Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. He is the heir to Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamishree Maharaj, and sixth in the lineage of ascetic Acharyas, which descends directly from Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
