Wednesday 7th August saw a special evening of "Bhakti Nrutya Sansmaran" - a reminiscence of devotional dance performances from the past three decades. In the divine presence of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, disciples young and old staged a range of performances reflecting devotional dances that have taken place in London, or by Londoners, over that period.

Over the past 31 years, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree has inspired His sants and disciples to hold concerts of devotional dance, as well as bring their dance performances to international events of the Sanstha. Such events evoke discipline and dedication in performers, and create lasting and joyous memories for those in the audience – both lead to the pleasure of Lord Shree Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and help disciples attain their ultimate aim of "Atyantik Moksh", absolute salvation.

The performances over the years have been incredibly eclectic, ranging from displays of ancient disciplines such as Bharatnatyam and martial arts, to traditional modes like dandiya raas, through to modern styles such as Bollywood and breakdance. What has remained constant is the enthusiasm of all those taking part to please the Lord and the appetite of the audience to experience such wonderful shows. The evening's performances were a walk down memory lane of the wonderful dance performances from the past 31 years.
