In keeping with the traditions of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sanstha, eminent guests were invited to Shree Swaminarayan Temple, London, for the darshan of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree. The guests visited the Temple over a three-day period during Acharya Swamishree’s visit to the UK.

Mr CB Patel (Editor and Publisher of the Gujarat Samachar publication) and Ms Jyotsnaben Shah (Managing editor of Gujarat Samachar) visited on Tuesday 12th September 2006. A special programme of devotional music and dance – Bhakti Sangeet – was taking place on this evening. Acharya Swamishree honoured Mr Patel with a prasanta pagh (auspicious turban), and Mrs Shah with a prasad shawl. Both guests were also given a magnificent miniature Murti of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Smurti Mandir. On this occasion Acharya Swamishree also launched a resigned website of Shree Swaminarayan Baal Mandir (a site dedicated to children) and Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band, London.

On Wednesday 13th September 2006, Mr Jagdishan (Economic Minister at the Indian High Commission in the UK) and Padmashree Vaidya Dr Sureshbhai Chaturvedi (Leading practitioner of Ayurved) came for the darshan of Acharya Swamishree. Dr Chaturvedi’s title, Padmashree, is in fact the highest possible civilian title that can be awarded to Indian nationals. These guests too were honoured with a prasanta paghs, shawls and the Murtis of Smurti Mandir. The visit of these guests coincided with the conclusion of the Swamibapa Education Awards and the launch of the Swamibapa Careers Forum.

The Leader of the Council of the London Borough of Barnet, Cllr Mike Freer came for the blessings of Acharya Swamishree on Thursday 14th September 2006. This was to be Acharya Swamishree’s final congregation before He concluded His tour of the UK and USA. Cllr Freer had been eager Acharya Swamishree’s darshan for a long time but was previously unable to visit the Temple due to other commitments. Acharya Swamishree bestowed a prasanta pagh to honour Cllr Freer, who expressed his delight at being granted this unique opportunity at such a late stage of Acharya Swamishree’s tour.
