Evening Concerts- Shree Swaminarayan Mandir London
Open Air Events - Music Show

Over 60 artists will put on an amazing evening of devotional songs and music. Prodigious talents from the Mandir’s own Shree Muktajeevan Arts and Culture Academy will be joined by the highly proficient Sants (monks) of Shree
Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan. They will both wow the audience and convey the glory of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree Maharaj.

This concert will be an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary, with some songs especially written and performed for this auspicious occasion. A particular highlightof the evening will be a piece sung by 35 of our youngest children. The lyrics throughout the evening will be in English, Gujarati and Hindi.

You might ask, ‘why a concert?’ Hindu scriptures describe nine categories of devotion, one of which is kirtan bhakti – the recitation of songs praising the Lord.

Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa demonstrated the importance of kirtan bhakti by writing a book of approximately two hundred kirtans – devotional poems and songs – describing the supremacy of Lord Shree Swaminarayan and Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree. This was Swamibapa’s gift to His disciples.

Under the inspiration of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan has produced dozens of albums over the last three decades and held hundreds of concerts around the world. These have featured kirtans produced by internationally acclaimed producers such as Kalyanji-Anandji, Viju Shah and Shravan Kumar Rathod, and sung by renowned artists such as Javed Ali, Vinod Rathod, Mahendra Kapoor, Sadhna Sargam, Alka Yagnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Nitin Mukesh to name but a few.

This concert will be a manifestation of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj’s inspiration
and encouragement of the musical arts.
