Golden Jubilee of Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Bhuj
Ground Consecration Ceremony
In the early 1960s, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa accepted the wishes of the disciples living in Kutch and, under the auspices of the Organisation, purchased a large piece of land in the heart of Bhuj, the economic capital of the region. Construction of a large temple swiftly commenced and in 1962, Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa ceremonially installed the divine Murtis of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa.
Exactly 50 years later, with the inspiration of Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, a grand festival will take place from 29 April till 4 May 2012, to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Bhuj temple.
To formally start the main preparations of this magnificent festival, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj travelled to Bhuj with a large group of sants. On 31 March 2012, Acharya Swamishree Maharaj performed the consecration of the site where the festival will take place, Bhuj’s famous Jubilee Ground. The flag of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan was raised by Acharya Swamishree Maharaj, to the ritual chanting of sacred religious verses by scholarly Sants.
Sants and disciples will now start building the assembly marquee and stage, and also commence setting up the exhibition, which will be housed in a large ship, which they have constructed.
Further details about the festival will be posted shortly on this website.
