Inspirator: His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj
Mumbai Mahotsav - Day 3 - Morning

On the final day of the Festival of Unity and Compassion, His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, presiding on an ornately decorated chariot, was led by Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band into the sabha mandap.  After the disciples on whose behalf the scripture recital was being held made their offerings to the Lord, they presented Acharya Swamishree with a trophy to commemorate Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Shatabdi Mahotsav.

As a special surprise, a remote controlled helicopter flew through the congregation to spray consecrated water and flowers.

Acharya Swamishree's Divine Ashirwad

  • Today is the final day of this auspicious festival, which we are celebrating in Mumbai in honour of our beloved guru, Jeevanpran Swamibapa’s centenary. For such a long time, everyone was waiting in anticipation of this occasion. The occasion is now upon us and is about to pass.
  • When an occasion such as this comes around, everyone wants to offer services the Lord in many different ways. Be it by arranging accommodation, cooking the food, constructing this magnificent stage, or creating the chariot – all these are the results of the effort that Swamibapa’s loving sants have made all day and night. All this has been done with pure sentiments. Where there are pure sentiments, anything is possible.
  • On the first night of the Mahotsav, we witnessed the “bhakti bhari Mumbai ki shaam” evening of devotional songs; yesterday we experienced the divine abhishek (ceremonial bathing) of the Lord. We have had the divine darshan of the annkut before the Lord. Such memories are to be cherished forever. When these events are recalled, all other thoughts of the mind subside. It is for this very reason that the supreme Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa presided on a divine chariot to give darshan to the thousands of onlookers during the “sad-bhav yatra (procession of purity).”
  • The sole reason that the Lord inspires such grand festivals, is so that innumerable souls are attracted to Him, by which they can attain betterment.
  • When a person is born as a human, he is sure to find the Lord or His sants on the Earth. However, only those with pure sentiments are able to recognise God. In fact, if a person’s sentiments are indeed pure, God will come to him. Today, we are privileged enough to have the divine darshan of the personification of the supreme Lord, in the form of Jeevanpran Swamibapa.
  • On this auspicious occasion, let us pray to the Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa, ‘Oh father. Oh epitome of compassion. Without You, we’d merely be roaming the world aimlessly. You have taken pity on us and manifested so that we are able to recognise your true greatness. Give us the wisdom to never leave from your shelter; give us the prudence to forever remain Yours. Give us the divine endeavour, intelligence and strength, to remain under the shelter of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi.
