Home Prelude Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5

As a prelude to the Madhapur Mahotsav, a rally was held on 28 April 2006 during which the general public was given information about current, important social issues. This public awareness rally commenced in the village of Bharasar and culminated in Madhapur. Throughout the course of the rally, over two hundred motorcyclists carried placards denouncing the dire practise that has become rife in the Indian community; that of aborting a foetus if it is discovered that it is female. The other important issue highlighted by the rally was the importance of the Narmada Dam and Canal on the long-term stability and prosperity of Gujarat.

By the command of Acharya Swamishree, the sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan had created grand chariots, upon which presided Lord Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree and Jeevanpran Swamibapa. His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree also gave darshan throughout the rally. Through His presence, Acharya Swamishree demonstrated the importance of the issues that were being by the rally. Students of Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Kala Academy performed a patriotic dance on the back of a truck, at various times throughout the procession.

From one end to the other, the convoy of sants and disciples was nearly 1.5 km long. After starting in Bharasar, the rally proceeded to Mankuva, Sukhpur and then Bhuj, where it was met by the Chief Collector of Kutch who, together with other officials, also took part in this event.
