Inspirator: His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj
Madhapur Mahotsav - Day 3
Home Prelude Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5

On the third day of the festival held in Madhapur, to raise the awareness of important social issues that afflict society at present, the editors of various newspapers came to hear Acharya Swamishree’s divine blessings and gain His darshan.

Amongst these were the former Assistant Chief Editor of Kutch Mitra, Shree Jayantbhai P Sachdev and the owner and Editor of Vavad group of newspapers, Shree Ram Karsandas Thakar. In his speech, Shree Ram Karsandas said, “Newspapers are the eyes of society; they have a major role in forming the thoughts of society. Therefore, it is my duty as editor of a newspaper that the news conveyed through my publications is the unbiased truth, which aims to facilitate the progression of society not its destruction or corruption. Acharya Swamishree has blessed me today. I have a duty to Him to abide by this duty. From the time I have come to know about Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan and the activities inspired by Acharya Swamishree, I have been very impressed. A religious organisation is going through so much devoted efforts to help society progress. This Organisation is like no other. I believe that the principle reason why this Organisation is unique, is because Acharya Swamishree does not just dictate to others what others should do; He demonstrates the values that society must have. During the rally, held a few days ago to highlight the importance of the Narmada Dam for Gujarat’s progress, and to protect the role of women in society, Acharya Swamishree Himself took part in the rally from start to finish. This shows how committed He is to the causes. There are few great leaders like Him. I admire Him greatly.”

In His divine blessings, Acharya Swamishree said:

  • The Vaishakh month is auspicious for the disciples of Kutch because Swamibapa always gives darshan here during those 4 weeks in order to perform the patotsav ceremonies of all the temples in the region. This is a prime opportunity for all disciples to please the Lord.

  • When the rains fall, the Chhip named fish propels itself out of the water to swallow a raindrop. That raindrop then forms into a valuable pearl. In the same manner, the season when the Lord is showering His divine blessings to all is here; take the opportunity of grabbing those blessings and instilling them into one’s life. Then, the unsurpassed bliss of the Lord’s divine Murti will be attained.

  • Jeevanpran Swamibapa says that one should have the habit of recognising the virtues that exist in everyone; then, one can progress in life. Dattatrya made 24 different gurus, i.e. he recognised the virtues of his 24 different gurus. They included a snake, a crocodile, an animal and a prostitute. There is good in everyone and everything. One should not take note of the flaws of others, only the virtues. The foundations of such a person become established deeper and deeper into the Satsang.

  • Jeevanpran Bapashree explains further, “If 100 people were given a kilogram of grain to carry, it would not seem too much. But if all that grain had to be carried by one person, it would be difficult to carry. In the same manner, if one takes one virtues from each of a hundred people, that individual would possess 100 virtues. Only such a person progresses.

After performing the dusk aarti ceremonies, Acharya Swamishree, sants and disciples gathered at the Sarvoday Sports Ground to watch a display of magnificent fireworks, prepared by Swamibapa’s sants. The sky was filled with colour; the divine colour of the supreme Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa. The villagers of Madhapur and people from the surrounding villages witnessed this spectacular event.
