Vachanamrut Parayan Recital at 8.15am

Divine Morning Ashirwad

His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree's divine ashirwad;

  • The recital of the Vachanamrut is taking place today. In this scripture, the Lord has given us true knowledge whereby we will never waver from the path of religion. He has bestowed us with this divine knowledge so that our hearts are filled with reverence for the Lord as well as with the thirty-two virtues of sants. In this manner, the Lord has not only manifested for the redemption of society, but also to cleanse religious values.
  • Religion itself is defined as having an ever-progressing relationship with the Lord. Only by attaining such a divine religion, can one attain bliss, peace and salvation. The Lord has manifested in order to establish this very religion.
  • The Lord has accepted innumerable souls under His shelter. He has taken the responsibility of ensuring the well-being of each of these souls both in this life and in the next. For this exact reason, He firstly asked Ramanand Swami for the benefit of His disciples.

Nagar Yatra

The third day saw a magnificent Nagar Yatra, inspired by His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree. The procession commenced at 3:30 pm from Chakudiya Mahadev and concluded at Maninagar Mandir at 8 pm.

Acharya Swamishree gave His divine darshan throughout the Nagar Yatra from one of four chariots which had been designed and constructed by the immensely talented sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi. Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band performed throughout the parade as well as several local brass and dhol bands.

It was estimated that some 50,000 people took part in the procession, not including the thousands who had its divine darshan from thier homes, shops, offices and those that lined the streets to witness this awesome event. Throughout the Nagar Yatra, people had the opportunity to offer aarti and poojan to Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa and Acharya Swamishree. Some even lined the rooftops of buildings to shower Acharya Swamishree with flowers as His chariot passed.

The procession continued into the early evening when the chariots were illuminated as daylight faded. By the end of the procession, the chariots lit up the otherwise dark streets like beacons.

To conclude the Nagar Yatra, Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band formed a Guard of Honour outside Maninagar Temple for Acharya Swamishree. He dismounted His chariot to the raptuous applause of just a small proportion of the Nagar Yatra who had managed to fit inside the Temple compound. Acharya Swamishree was then carried to the Temple.

Shayan Aarti

To conclude the events of this truly memorable day, at 9:30 pm everyone present at the Temple had the darshan of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree performing Shayan aarti.

The Lord gave darshan adorned with His night clothing: a pink cap; pink tunic, blue trousers and shawl.

Comments of the Day

"All four chariots were magnificent today, but when I saw Swamishree's chariot, I thought it was a beautiful marble temple and walked past it. Only, after I saw the nagar yatra start did I realise that the temple I walked past was actually the main chariot. The great sants and devotees that have created such a masterpiece have truly done a fantastic job.
Well Done to you all. "
