The British Transplant Games, formerly known as Transplant Olympics is an annual event for athletes who have had a organ transplant or who have donated an organ.
This year the host town is Bolton and the Swaminarayan Gadi Pipe band was invited to lead the athletes in a parade through the centre of the town as part of the opening ceremony. The pipe band was delighted to take part as it was in keeping with Hindu theology of preserving life and organ donation is a honourable way of offering someone a new lease of life. |
